About Us

The Calderwood Writing Initiative is a project of the Boston Athenæum, one of the oldest and most distinguished independent libraries in the United States. The Initiative is administered by John Brereton, Director of the Calderwood Writing Initiative, with the assistance of Jenny Desai. The Initiative's Advisory Board takes an active role in overseeing grants, making site visits, and providing hands-on collaboration.
